Located at No. 100 Century Avenue, Pudong New Area, Shanghai, the Shanghai World Financial Center is a skyscraper in the Lujiazui Financial and Trade Zone. It borders the core area of Pudong in the east, overlooks Puxi and the Huangpu River in the west, faces the Zhangyang Road Business and Trade District in the south, and adjoins Lujiazui Central Green in the north.

Covering a land area of 14,400 square meters with a total construction area of 381,600 square meters, the building features 101 above-ground floors and 3 underground floors, with a height of 492 meters and a square column-shaped appearance. Its annex building has 4 above-ground floors, standing at approximately 15.8 meters high.

Levels B2, B1, 2 and 3 accommodate shopping malls and restaurants; floors 7 to 77 serve as office spaces, among which the 29th floor houses the Global Financial Culture Communication Center; floors 79 to 93 function as a hotel; and floors 94, 97 and 100 are open as observation decks.

In 2008, the Shanghai World Financial Center was named Best Tall Building of the Year by the Council on Tall Buildings and Urban Habitat (CTBUH). In 2018, it was awarded the 10-Year Special Award at the 16th Global Tall Building Awards presented by CTBUH.
